Biju Thomas, Board Member of Jesus' Economy

Biju Thomas is a former board member of Jesus' Economy. We were honored to have him serve on our board.

Biju Thomas is the Founder and President of Transformation India Movement (TIM). Over ten years ago, Biju—after hearing God’s call—left what would have been a stable life to reach people living in extreme poverty and to live among them and become one of them. He desired for the people of Bihar to not only be helped, but for them to hear the good news of Jesus.

Transformation India Movement began in 2002 with a vision to bring spiritual, physical, and economic transformation, particularly to the state of Bihar, through holistic ministry. Transformation India Movement seeks to train and place indigenous missionaries in villages where there is currently no access to the Christian gospel in an effort to bring positive change to people’s lives—offering physical and spiritual transformation through Jesus.

In addition to sharing who Jesus is and how he can change lives, via church planting and evangelism, TIM is tackling the issues of poverty and equality. They drill water wells, have women empowerment and job training programs, literacy training, hold medical clinics, and run an orphanage.

Biju believes that “it is the birth right of every person in Bihar, India to hear the name of Jesus at least once in his or her life time. I also believe it is the responsibility of the global church to give them an opportunity to know who Jesus is.” Biju lives in Bihar, India with his wife and children.
