With over twenty years of public relations experience to her credit, Jana Ford Muntsinger currently focuses her professional efforts on one goal: introducing inspirational authors and books to general market and religious media. For the last 14 years as President of McClure Muntsinger Public Relations (MMPR), Muntsinger has garnered national interviews for her clients on programs such as “The TODAY Show,” “CNN’s American Morning,” “Fox & Friends” and “Good Morning America.” She has also coordinated coverage for numerous clients in Publishers Weekly, Entertainment Weekly, Huffington Post, USA Today, Christianity Today and other national outlets.
As half of MMPR, Muntsinger has managed publicity and marketing campaigns for a wide variety of clients, including Tyndale Kids, The Parable Group, Thomas Nelson, WaterBrook Press, Zondervan Publishing House, Abingdon Press, Crossway, Moody Publishers, Loyola Press, and Multnomah Publishers. In addition to MMPR campaigns, Muntsinger volunteered her services to the PR Committee for Billy Graham’s Crusade for Middle Tennessee, held in Nashville, TN (June 2000). She also shares her expertise with other literary publicists via training venues such as the 2001 Publicity Workshop (with Guthrie Communications) and ECPA’s Publishing University (2004 and 2006). In addition, Muntsinger volunteers her PR expertise for many non-profit organizations.
Prior to forming MMPR, Muntsinger spent more than seven years at one of the top religious publishing houses, Word/Thomas Nelson Publishing (now part of the Harper Collins Christian Publishing Group), forming and managing strategic publicity campaigns for best-selling authors. Muntsinger spent more than five years as a director at Word—first as director of public relations and then as director of publicity projects. During her years at Word, Muntsinger orchestrated her first of many national author tours which helped authors increase media exposure and secure national bestseller positioning.
