Volunteer as a Software Engineer: Code for a Cause

Jesus' Economy is looking for skilled software engineers willing to donate their time to developing the innovative platform of JesusEconomy.org. Together, we're creating jobs and churches in the developing world. And tech is at the center of our efforts. We're going to change the face of non-profit advocacy and you can be a part of it. Ideal candidate:

  • Desires to code for a cause that truly matters: alleviating poverty and spreading the gospel
  • Knowledgeable in Javascript and/or Java
  • Experience with git source control
  • Strong understanding of web application design
  • Strong understanding of relational databases
  • Is passionate about the principles behind Jesus' Economy
  • Believes that technological innovation is critical to solving global poverty

Nice to have:

  • Experience working on a Java REST API w/Spark
  • Experience developing a React/Redux Application
  • Experience working on the Shopify platform

Volunteer remotely. This is a remote position; our entire team works remotely. You can make the world a better place from behind your computer. We invest seriously in the personal and career growth of each member of our team.

About our engineering team. Our team includes top graduates from Princeton University, a former tech CEO, and other top software engineers. You will be joining leaders in their field who code for Jesus' Economy because they want to make the world a better place. Jesus' Economy is an all-volunteer team, including our CEO and our CTO.

About our organization. Jesus' Economy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity dedicated to creating jobs and churches in the developing world. We empower developing world leaders to renew their communities, both spiritually and physically. In each community, we offer church grants, microloans, and meet basic needs. 100% goes to the developing world. To fuel the movement and create jobs, we also provide an online Fair Trade Shop.
