A Bracelet that Matches Nearly Any Outfit

It’s not often that you find handmade bracelets that will match nearly any outfit. With so many colors on one band, these bracelets will. And to top it off, each bead is made 100% from porcelain. Purchasing this fair trade product and other artisan crafted jewelry helps provide jobs for people living in extreme poverty.

Artisan's Story

Anne Nasieku [bottom right] is a Maasai woman living near the city of Nairobi, Kenya. Through her work in the slums of Ngong, Kenya she learned that many children were unable to attend pre-school and kindergarten due to the costs involved. Many of the mothers are also HIV positive and thus could not maintain sustainable incomes. So Anne started a program called Mayiant, meaning "blessings," which allows these HIV positive women to create intricate beadwork for the sandals she sells; in addition, Anne sells these delicate beaded bracelets to help raise money for the Mayiant program.
